Twin Cities Marathon

After more than 4 months of training, four other runners and I took the the streets of Minneapolis and St Paul for our first marathon.  The day started early with the alarm going off at 5:45.  After getting dressed and eating my last meal before the race, Rachel and I were off to NCU to meet up with the other runners from our team.  After some last minute preperation we made our way over to the metrodome where we stretched and warmed up for the run.

This story could go on for hours, but I'll just give you the highlights. 

300 Yards – Boda pulls away
7 Miles – we pass Rachel and Tiffany
10 Miles – we see Emily Schmieg
10.5 Miles – Jeramy falls behind but urges us to go on
12 Miles – we pass Rachel and Tiff at their second meeting point
18.5 Miles – we pass Rachel, Tiff, and Emily's family (stop for a short water break)
22.2 Miles – Emily said "do what you need to do" and I pull away
26.2 Miles – I run across the fiinish line and finish in 5:08:03
