blog baby blog

so you may have noticed that nick doesn't do a lot of blogging here on our site. (and really who am i to talk? i'm terrible at keeping up. but at least i write every so often.) he hasn't written since last year. he may not blog here, but blogging is his second job. when big news hits, he spends some quality time like this: nick created {htcsource.com} 3 years ago and it's really starting to take off. he writes all about htc phones, operating systems and applications. for awhile he was ...

tech tuesday: CES 2010

tomorrow i lose my husband to vegas. for the third time. i have yet to join him in sin city. nick's going for CES: the consumer electronics show. it's a giant convention that showcases and previews all the upcoming technology. i tease and keep referring to it as "nerd fest" but secretly i want to go. mainly to check out e-readers as they're my new obsession in the tech world. what's not a secret is that i want to spend some time in vegas. but what do you do in vegas with a nine month old ...

tech tuesday: google googles

"SHUT UP!" that's what i yelled at the computer multiple times last night when nick showed me a video on the latest app for his android phone: google goggles. not only can you type in a search or yell say it to your phone. you can now take a picture with your phone! that's right folks, you can take a picture of art in the museum and google will kick back a page of results and information about that painting. how cool is that!? driving by a landmark? take a picture and you'll instantly ...

Perspective

It's been nearly a week since I've returned from Tanzania.  I've told countless stories, shared pictures of our adventures, and relived the jourey a hundred times.  Yet with all that it seems like there's something I can't seem to share.  Something that's hard to put into words.  Africa has captured my heart and reawakened passions which I thought had died long ago.   I'm sure there are many who were on the trip who have called Africa a life ...

No rules in Tanzania

As many of you already know, I just got back from an 11 day trip to Tanzania.  Since I've been back, I've gotten the question "How was Africa?" a few dozen times already.  The truth is, it's hard to describe.  I've used the words: amazing, wonderful, and awsome a few times already. But the moment those words come out of my mouth, I want to take them back.  Not because the trip didn't live up to the words, but because those words simply are not ...

Tech Issues (Computers and PS3)

Ok, so it's been a long time since I've written a post here.  This doesn't mean I have not been blogging though.  A few months ago I started a blog about HTC phone over at www.htcsource.com .  But that's not why I'm writing today. Since Christmas, the Gray household has been having some tech issues.  Most people who know me, kinda think of me as a tech nerd.  I get call from friends I have not heard from in months some times and all they want to know ...

Twin Cities Marathon

After more than 4 months of training, four other runners and I took the the streets of Minneapolis and St Paul for our first marathon.  The day started early with the alarm going off at 5:45.  After getting dressed and eating my last meal before the race, Rachel and I were off to NCU to meet up with the other runners from our team.  After some last minute preperation we made our way over to the metrodome where we stretched and warmed up for the run. This story could go on for ...

The long run

As many  you may know by now, I will be running the Twin Cities Marathon this fall.  I started jogging early last month, but the official training started this past Monday.  The training program starts out slow and builds up over 16 weeks.  Each week I will be running 4 days with the last day of each week finishing with a long run. I just finished my long run for the week - 5 miles around Lake Phalen by our house.  In college I would regularly run about 3 miles, but 5 ...

the ebay game is paying off…

a few weeks ago  I started selling random things on ebay to make a little extra cash.  Now the extra cash is starting to get spent as I buy all the items I need to install a computer in my car.  A lot of people will say "a computer in your car...?  what do you need that for?"  Well the answer in pretty simple.  I need it for all the stuff you use a computer for.  Most people's only form of media in their car is the radio or cd player.  With ...
